Step 1 – Basic Sciences 

Focuses on anatomy, physiology, pathology, microbiology, and other basic medical sciences.

Tests diagnostic skills, disease management, and clinical patient care.

Step 2 CK – Clinical Knowledge 

Step 3 – Clinical Practice

Assesses ability to apply knowledge in real-world patient care scenarios.

All steps are computer-based with multiple-choice questions.

Exam Format 

Case Simulations

Step 3 includes computer-based case simulations (CCS) to test decision-making.

Exam Duration 

Step 1 and Step 2 are one-day exams, Step 3 spans two days.

Test Centers 

USMLE is conducted at Prometric test centers globally.
