It wasn’t always an easy road, but my determination and strategic preparation led to success. Today, I’m here to share insights and lessons from my experience to help you excel in your USMLE exam journey.

From early education in Gujarat to completing MBBS and scoring 261 on USMLE Step 1, my USMLE journey is about persistence, strategic planning, and learning. Through USMLE Strike, I’ve empowered students worldwide, simplifying complex topics and creating tailored plans. Let’s dive deeper into this journey.

Early Life: The Beginning of a Dream (1995–2013)

Growing up in Veraval, Gujarat, a small town renowned for its historic Somnath temple, my curiosity about medicine began at an early age. I attended Dalmia Public School and Aditya Birla Public School, where I developed a love for learning. Fascinated by the power of the internet, I used it as a gateway to explore medicine.

In high school, I moved to Rajkot to attend GK Dholakia School. My commitment to academics paved the way for my medical aspirations. Despite the limited resources of a small town, I pursued my dream of becoming a doctor with unwavering focus.

Medical School: The Foundation (2013–2019)

In 2013, I secured admission to GMERS Medical College, Ahmedabad, thanks to my NEET-UG performance. My mentor, Dr. Viren Kariya, inspired my passion for teaching. My first YouTube video on the embryology of the heart became a significant milestone. Teaching dental, physiotherapy, and nursing students further reinforced my understanding of core concepts.

During medical school, I consistently ranked among the top 10 students at Gujarat University. These years formed the cornerstone of my USMLE journey, preparing me for the challenges ahead.

USMLE Step 1: Overcoming Challenges (2019–2020)

Completing MBBS in 2019 marked the start of my focused preparation for the USMLE exams. Despite delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, I persevered. On June 10, 2020, I scored 261 in USMLE Step 1. This milestone validated the hard work and strategies I developed during my USMLE journey.

What Inspired Me to Take the USMLE

  • Exposure to a rigorous healthcare system that challenges and sharpens your skills while offering unmatched learning opportunities.
  • Desire to contribute to global healthcare by learning and applying best practices from a world-class system.
  • Passion for advanced medical skills and the pursuit of excellence in patient care.

The Pillars of My Preparation

Resources I Used:

  1. Start Early: Built a foundation with Dr. Najeeb’s lectures, focusing on building a strong understanding of core medical concepts early in my medical education.
  2. Intensive Focus: Dedicated 6–8 months of uninterrupted study, which allowed me to maintain a steady momentum and ensure in-depth preparation.
  3. Question Practice: Solved over 10,000 MCQs, focusing on variety and depth to cover potential exam scenarios and build exam confidence.
  4. Teaching: Reinforced concepts by teaching others, which not only benefited my students but also solidified my own understanding of the topics.
