Gallbladder Adenocarcinoma

Introduction

  • Adenocarcinoma is most common primary tumor
    • very rare occurring mainly in elderly women
  • Epidemiology
    • gallstones are a risk factor
    • gallbladder with dystrophic calcifications (porcelain gallbladder) 
  • Commonly invades liver and porta hepatis

Treatment

  • Palliative

Prognosis, Prevention, and Complications

  • Almost all patient die within one year.
