  • Toxoplasma gondii  
    • Rubella
    • Cytomegalovirus (CMV)
    • HIV
    • Herpes simplex virus (HSV)
      • HSV-2 is more common, although HSV-1 is also possible
    • Syphilis
  • Signs in the fetus in ToRCHeS infections (nonspecific, common to multiple infections)
    • hepatosplenomegaly
    • fever
    • poor feeding
    • growth retardation
    • jaundice
    • thrombocytopenia
    • hearing impairment
    • mental retardation
    • autism
    • death
